Swimming alien

Our little swimming alien is more active these days. We can actually see and feel the little creature moving inside me. Seems to respond to certain stimuli like: cat purrs, music (really enjoyed the John McDermott concert and the Christmas carollers at work), and hot chocolate.

Baby Face is okay

Attempt #2 at taking a picture of the baby's heart went really well on Tuesday. We managed to get all the pictures we needed to assess the condition on the heart and the verdict is "normal." Baby face is also apparently "normal" -- I guess this means, we're having a baby with two ears, one nose, upper and lower lips and all in the appropriate places.

Jon and I didn't fall asleep at this ultrasound session. It was actually quite interesting because baby was quite animated. Oh, btw, the theory that the ultrasound machines don't actually work and that they just play a movie of a generic baby for everyone -- we've proven it false. The technician was wanding over my belly and just as I saw the baby foot kick my uterus, I felt something. Pretty cool.

Today I'm wearing a clingy top over my big belly and I looked down when I felt movement, and saw my belly move. Neat. I can actually feel and see the kicks at the same time now! Looks like Jon and I are getting a future soccer player.
